Picked up this remix of The Suspense Is Killing Me by Chicago based Moon Man through Grindin earlier this week and it’s had a bit of an infections effect on me. Without veering too far from the original, Moon Man touches things up with some big bottom bass and nicely edited drums. Dope.
Boy 8-Bit - Suspense Is [...]

Toddla T on Fire! Fresh from the Machines Don’t Care project, Toddla gets busy adding yet another notch to his expanding and overly impressive remix catalog. Reworking Tricky’s Council Estate, Toddla joins South Rakkas Crew and Drums of Death offering up versions although T breaks the mold with something resembling a cross between Soca, Bassline and early 90’s Chicago [...]

Mmm been a while since a decent Bassline posting. After wondering around minimal land for a while, it’s loads of awesome to get stupid on some wobbly warble and bubbly beats.
New bits from Nay Nay, Wittyboy and Absurd. Wheeeeeeeeel!
Nay Nay ft Gen - Im On It Vip Mix
Nay Nay - Deal With Shit
Nay Nay & Wittyboy - Rhubarb & [...]

Mark One (aka) MRK1’s older material have been the topic of more than a few iChat convos recently at CCHQ. Known primarily for his production work behind the Grime act Virus Syndicate, Mark was an undeniable influential player in the early days of post 2step Dark Garage.
In 2005, Mark One’s Lost Gold single handedly turned me on to this [...]

Oh man, I gotta say this wonky syncopated bass funk sound coming from the Martin Brothers really has to be some of the most exciting stuff in dance music for me as of late.
You can’t help but get lost in the nervous melodies and awkward rhythmic patterns as that signature hyphy 808 kicks moan in and about.
The uneasy feeling behind what Christian and Justin Martin [...]

Mumdance, through dancing a incredibly thin gray line between 90’s Rave, Electro, Regional and Post 2-Step Garage have been picking up a ton of attention as of late and with good reason.
Thick with 8-Bit Grime basslines and clever upbeat drum edits. Mumdance will be sure to make a mess of Fabric’s big rig next weekend. [...]
Detboi, fresh from the massive success of the Machines Don’t Care project (in which he was a contributer) is set about to follow up with a 2 new EP’s in the coming months, both of which do a bang up job highlighting his unique thrash-hall sound.

MiKiX The Cat, set to drop a slew of incredibly original productions in the coming months, his a name worth paying attention to.
By creating mixtapes for his breakdance crew early on, the 21 year old from Paris has musical influences rooted deep in old school hiphop and funk.
You wouldn’t think it after hearing his current productions though. Mikix was drawn to 4X4 [...]
London House duo Andy George and Scott Cooper’s joint EP featuring the ragga infused jacker The Piano Man hit stores earlier this week with impeccable timing. Given that Caribana is just around the corner and literally every radio station from CBC to Proud FM is playing Soca riddims 24/7 and all.
Watch for a load of forthcoming material for these two in the [...]
Head over heals in love with Zombie Disco Squad’s new Trumpets and Tom Toms EP released last week. Already sold out at Phonica, I’m fighting tooth and nail snag a copy to play out in the coming days.
Luckily, there’s this recent ZDS edit of Oliver Dollar’s Mash Mellow to tide us over until we can track down our Vie [...]
Sharkslayer kicks your dad’s fucking ass. I’m not really sure what else to say.. honest.
I’m absolutly loving this guys work and was delighted when we were sent a copy of his new EP entitled Don’t Go In The Water on Top Billin’ the other day.
100% bona fined facemelt 2008 realness here. Rib crushing [...]
Been eagerly waiting to post this mix for a few weeks now. Ottawa’s Jokers Of The Scene are lucky enough to christen the launch of Mishka NYC’s new Mix [...]
