The Love You Got

On a Thursday in October

Biiiiiiig riddim here. It’s been doing the rounds with all the right ears these past few weeks and for good reason. The xx get their 2-Step on with their recent remix for Florence and The Machine and I’m seriously prone to goosebumps and shivers when those dubby xylophones creep in during the breakdown.

A classy look on the super repetitive 2-Step break and warm like a camp fire bubbly subs too. Wish i could write more about how I love this record but my arm feels like about to fall off. Get to the file… you’ll see what I on about soon enough.

Sorry guys but give me the Candi Staton original anyday and everyday of the week…this and all the other mixes of this track by Florence & M are pretty weak, dismal, lacking in passion and vocal elegance compared to the original!

This really is white people doing black music, pretty badly!

white people doing black music??? like all dubstep producers (except Benga, Joker and a couple more), like Diplo, L-Vis 1990, Sinden, Ghislain Poirier, all the Nu Cumbia scene and so on?

    DJ Umb, we meet again!!!

    hahahahahahaaaa

    PS: i love this remix

    hahahah@funkfow…

Like the Beatles, Stones and Zeppelin, lots of dubstep producers,Diplo, Ghislain Poirier, Switch,”not” all the Nu Cumbia..white people doing black music but brilliantly….:-)

    Nice 2 meet again :-))

But honestly, this really sucks…it’s a bit like Shakin’ Stevens really trying to be Elvis!

It’s just so wrong….and I do Like Florence & the Machine but this is crap….

Play the original side by side and then maybe you’ll see what I mean.

Man, if you’re going to do a cover version, just make sure it’s fuckin’ brilliant, otherwise don’t bother!

Buckley doing Cohen’s “Hallelujah” is a case in point for doing covers!

Guys Candi Stanton is not the original, the original was by Frankie Knuckles and Jamie Principle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu8hVn_0Lq4 this version should be banned from every radio station, club, pub, restaurant, play school, disco, bowling alley, cinema….. ITS TRULY THE WORST TUNE IN THE WORLD!!!

    guys

whats it gotta do with race or religion ???

big tune. love the way the 2step vibe is used and the vocal cuts, and those subs are very reminiscent of some of Groove Chronicles old skool ones, but done better with the whole up to date idea

very fresh!! love some xx’s stuff, very unique and deserves more recognition!
