Shake Shake Shake

On a Saturday in April

Had these two heaters in the queue for a few weeks now but rest assured the wait will be undoubtedly worth it. Major Notes gets even the coldest dancefloor bubblin’ with some funky shakers and throbbing two note basslines. If the infectious melody alone doesn’t grab you I don’t know what will.

Major Notes - Jungle Book

Keeping on a funky tip, Uncle Bakongo’s work has had me climbing the walls as of late. Leaning more towards a discombobulated halfstep structure, Bakongo’s riddims produce a similarly uneasy tension to that of early protodubstep before the days of predictable wubwub and wobble bass.
