A new look (blog v2.0)

On a Sunday in December

After a few weeks of css by trial and error, sore eyes and coffee headaches, I’m happy to finally launch version 2 of Curb Crawlers today.

A number of people have expressed their fondness for the original layout so I tried my best to keep v2 as true to it’s roots as possible. Here’s a short rundown of some of the improvements / adjustments found in todays launch.

New Layout: Ditched the old left aligned style for a more traditional centered layout. The post areas have been increased in size to allow for larger photos and videos also. The sidebar length has been reduced in size by incorporating the archives, about and contact sections into expandable dropdown thingys. 

Categories: We’ve added categories, still working on assigning all past posts a category. 

Search: Search results are now live. Type something in the search field and the results will automatically pop up right below the search field. No more new windows.

Comments: You can now use Facebook connect to log into the site when commenting. Once you log into the blog with Facebook, a small profile page is automatically created for you with your photo, last Facebook status update and your “about me” section. You can use this to meet / stalk other people that have similar taste.

iPhone: If you use an iPhone, there’s a super fast, sexy stripped-down version of the blog for you too. go check it out.

Twitter: We’re now updating our Twitter with new posts. Come follow us on Twitter and get all sorts of updates on new blog posts, bangin’ new music, hot shit parties in the city and other random shit. twitter.com/CurbCrawlers

- Let us know what you think about the new look. Only if you like it though! I’m not a website designer and probably fucked up a bunch of stuff. The new layout was written in Safari and tested in both Firefox and Chrome. I’d imagine everything looks like total ass in IE but whatever them the breaks. I’ll get around to fine tuning those things after our best of 2008 posts.
