On a Thursday in December

Stumbled across the backdrop for this picture in a pretty interesting way. After hours spent scouring the net for a decent photo, I came across this little birdie wall sketch someone had posted on flickr, taken on recent summer vacation. Somewhere in the photo’s description was the word “worthy” (in the dictionary sense). Kismet? perhaps.

Worthy most recent release entitled Madcap is out now on the SF based Anabatic Records.

Anabatic, formally Katabatic, was recently forced to change their name after an Oakland based “death shite, weirdcore, abandoned house, zombient and queasy listening” label using the name Katabatik slapped them with a cease and desist letter for trade mark infringement.

With bangers like Madcap, I highly doubt the change in identity will do much to effect the success of the imprint. Here’s a taste of Worthy’s title track to wet your whistle. Please excuse the pissy bitrate. If you’re into this, please support the label and buy the EP.

For our pals local to Toronto, Worthy alongside Curb Crawlers favorite Christian Martin will be djing live for Embraces’ second installment in Dirty Bird events at Wrongbar. Sadly, I missed the last event due to an event we were throwing with Rusko on the same night. Not a chance in hell I’ll miss this one though!

Speaking of Christian Martin (1/2 of The Martin Brothers), We almost forgot to post this bangin’ Hookerz & Blow refix of The Martin Brothers’ Dub we snatched up from the Fluo Kids page a while back. Keeping true to the original, the rework relies heavily on a big boy 808 kit and 303 acid yelps. Thought it would finnish up this post nicely!
