Fitting for Halloween? possibly. In Corey’s eyes most definitely as his feeling on NY sounding House is that it’s got no forward movement. Has anyone noticed that over the past 3 or 4 years, Zomibes have been able to chase down brains in an increasingly speedy way? They’re so fast now!

Earlier this week our good friend Dougie Boom dropped this mix for all the kid that believe in Halloween.
Tracklisting is fucking mental, not to mention Doug is a king on the 1’s and 2’s.

Sorry for slackin on the posting. Believe it or not, I depend on GTD to manage most of my life (this blog included).
This last week I went through a GTD melt down equivalent of a supermodel binge eating Big Macs. Have lot’s of stuff to post though so heeeeeere goes!

New York producer, DJ and promoter, Dhruva, has prepared a hot as hell mix for Proton radio to air this weekend. It spans his biggest influences of dancehall, dub and dubstep. It’s got a fair number of exclusives and rarities. We’ve got the exclusive, so don’t sleep.

Okay, b-more, club or whatever you want to call, these tunes can get a bit samey samey. But just when you lose hope, or aren’t drunk enough on the dancefloor at 3AM, you hear one that hits you just right. At work and I’m not in the mood, but the Bassilleuro Remix of Charles and [...]

Fresh new music from our undercover friend Alias.
A nice disco sound to this one with a killer rubbery bline to match. There’s another Alias tune that goes along with this one but is more on a Dance Mania meets Dubsided flex. Watch for that one sometime soon.

Between the ages of 18 and 21 Photek was a fucking demigod in my eyes. I owned pretty much everything he put on wax, treated getting lost is his spooky sound-scapes as a sort of dark holistic meditation and mimicked his stark minimal asthetic (something thats often still with me today).
For the last few years, [...]

Some dubplate heat from Toronto’s “most unassuming dubstep producer” Woogie.
Old school jungle listeners will get a kick out of this one.

I’m not crazy about the original stuff from Pomomofo (dont’ hate it, just don’t love it), but then so much of what’s good these days is in the remix, refix and retouch. This version of “Back at the Club” is a little all over the map for my taste, but the chop and screw is [...]

Going back and doing some homework, I bought “The Ultimate Dancehall Mix Volume 4″ from Jamdown Records. This collection from 2002, a rough time for dancehall, touches on that weird electro sound that was popular for a minute. Hindsight being 20/20, tell me the Shockwave riddim isn’t a dubstep crossover. That bass!

Please forgive the lame factor of this post. I certainly don’t ever want this blog to become some blah blah blah online personal diary but fuck me I’m wicked excited about this.
I bought a new mixer last night! This is a well deserved purchase. I used my last mixer for close to 10 years and [...]

Round 2 on the Scanners RMX tip. A few weeks ago we posted up the smashing sub bass rmx by STDJ’s. This week we’re sent the follow up rmx by Blamma! Blamma!.
Vocoder layered vocals slowly building up to a mean ass detroit techno-like shuffle.
Watch for lots of new heat from Blamma! Blamma! shortly as they [...]

We’re growing . Last week our best buddy I’ve never met Secret Agent Gel joined Curb Crawlers as a blog contributer.
Corey has a great taste in music (quite a bit of the stuff posted here were leads passed over from him). Also, we suck his dick with postings of his tunes pretty frequently so [...]

I have a definite weakness for r&b flavors, esp tongue in cheek. The cats from Copenhagen get it just right with dancefloor bass, sick effects and cheeky lyrics. A little Beck, and little Mr. Bungle, a little Chromeo.
