Burial

I always feel a bit guilty posting dubstep mp3’s on here. Mainly, it’s out of respect for the dubplate culture that the scene holds on too so dearly. Personally, I feel that Dubstep music’s attitude towards dubplates, digital distribution and filesharing to ba a bit archaic and in fact inhibits further growth and acceptance. That’s a whole other story though.

I will however, link you to some place on the net where music in question is already posted. Fuck if I can find it in less than 30sec using Google whats the harm done?

Soul Jazz UK released the compilation CD “Box of Dub” this month. Showcasing more of a “dub” sound of Dubstep Music along with some “Nu Dub” artists. I grabbed the CD the other day. The Nu Dub didn’t appeal to me much.. Kode9’s ‘Magnetic City’ is aces along with Skream’s long awaited ‘Irie’. Without a doubt however, Burial’s contribution ‘Unite’ stands out among all.

Burial - Unite

I can’t get over how fucking good this guy is. It’s almost spooky in the sense that when you listen to his music, you know without a shadow of a doubt that you’re listening to something people will hold close to them and cherish 50 years down the road. Do yourself a favor and buy this man’s music on vinyl or CD. I know that “in the now”, it’s all about the hottest rmx of blah blah blah but let’s get fucking real already. Both you and everyone else wont give a shit about what Lip Gloss RMX you have a year from now.

Burial’s self titled LP is being re released on 12″ format. Don’t be an idiot and sleep on this. Buy on sight.
